The Hamburg design duo Birgit Hoffmann and Christoph Kahleyss have reinterpreted Asian food culture. With five types of stone suitable for outdoor use, the designers combine stone and metal to form a sensuous round table. A round stone table top rests on slightly curved metal struts of different widths.

FOYAITE (hard stone): Janua's natural stones are always finished with a silky matte leather surface. This is carried out in two steps: The natural stone is ground according to its hardness. Hard rocks must be ground significantly longer than soft rocks. Subsequently, the surface is worked with brushes of varying degrees of hardness. The result is a matte appearance and a high-low relief. Similar to brushed wood surfaces, the harder areas of the natural stone remain elevated while the softer veins and areas gain a depth relief. The stone does not shine ad resembles leather. this form of surface treatment is also referred to s a satin finish. Natural stone surfaces with a leather look are versatile and easier ti care for than polished to smoothed stone surfaces.
